There is no exact height requirement for a featured image. However, making an image extremely tall will inevitably cause layout issues.

Using box mode.

For a standard page or post: 1200px × 500px

Using full-width mode.

For a standard page or post: 2200px × 750px

Inline images on a web page

Horizontal: 1200px × 800px

Vertical: 800px × 1200px

Headshots

Vertical: 600px × 800px

Email header

Horizontal: 600px × 400px

NOTE: While the vertical dimension is flexible and does not need to be exact, a heighth of 400px is recommended for most uses. The UT HTML email templates require a width of 600px for all full-width “feature” images.
